Following Friday’s Supreme Court judgment which upholds Governor Gboyega Oyetola as the winner of Osun governorship election, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye has advised the governor should hit the ground running to deliver on his campaign promises to the people of the State.

According to High Chief Kalejaiye, seven months out of the four year tenure of the governor has been spent on litigation and it is time for the governor to prove to all that he is ever ready to take the State of Osun to the next level of progress.

While congratulating Governor Oyetola on his victory at the Supreme Court, High Chief Kalejaiye who is the traditional head of Otumara 11, Apapa road, Ojo-niyun and it’s environs urge the governor to run an inclusive government and be magnanimous in victory.

He said, “The distractions of the last seven months is over and I want to congratulate Governor Oyetola on his victory . It is indeed a victory well-deserved. Having said this, the governor should be mindful of the fact that seven months has been wasted on litigation, no thanks to the Peoples Democratic Party’s hallucinatory stance over its political relevance in Osun state.

They don’t want to agree that Osun State is an APC State but now they know. So, it is time for our governor to unfold his plans for the State, name his cabinet and other appointment and roll out his developmental agenda for the State. I have no doubt that he is capable of consolidating on the good works of his predecessor.”

Commenting on the now suspended RUGA policy by President Muhammadu Buhari, High Chief Kalejaiye said the policy will be chaotic if allowed to operate in Southwest region.

He said, “ What is the business of the Federal Government in the affairs of the herdsmen. Yes, we are all Nigerians but shielding the cattle breeders and forcibly acquiring lands for them under the guise of RUGA is not acceptable to us in the Southwest.

There is enough insecurity issue in the land, the government should be careful not to compound the already tensed situation. But thank God that it has been suspended.”
