A traditional ruler in Otumara community in Lagos State, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye has felicitated with the governor of the State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu on his award as Independent Newspaper Governor of Year in Infrastructure.
Sanwo-Olu was presented the award at a well attended ceremony held at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Reacting to the honour, Kalejaiye described Governor Sanwo-Olu as a worthy recipient of the best governor award on infrastructure, noting his achievements transcend one sector of the Lagos economy.

According to him, his impacts is felt in the health sector, transportation, agriculture, education, economy, ICT, wealth and job creation got the teeming youth population in the state and more.

He said, “That the management of Independent Newspaper chose to honour Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the recipient of best governor in Infrastructure attests to the fact that the impacts of the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu is not only felt by Lagosians, they are equally felt by observers and the media who are the watchdogs of the economy.

I congratulate Governor Sanwo-Olu and other recipients of the prestigious awards. The award is a call for more transformational projects. It is a duty call. So I am calling on Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu to focus more on areas that requires urgent attention.

On transportation, it is worthy of mention that the governor has changed the face of public transportation with the ingestion of BRT buses and cars into the sector. But of concern is the terrible traffic situations in almost across the state.
I want to call the attention of the governor to urgently address the traffic congestion where productive hours are lost.

Also in the education sector, Lagos public schools under Governor Sanwo-Olu have been upgraded to compete with private schools. Pupils of Lagos State emerge tops in national and State competition which point to the quality of teachings and academic activities being churn out in Lagos schools.

While these feats are worthy of commendation, I equally want to plead with the governor to consider our plight in Ebute Meta (west), of Lagos Mainland Local Government of Lagos State.

High chief Kehinde Kalejaiye

Our pupils are suffering due to the absence of Senior Secondary Schools in the district.
Although this has been approved by the governor, we are appealing for its implementation to bring to an end years of our children journeying to Surulere to complete their secondary education.
In all, I commend and congratulates our amiable governor and his team for excellent jobs being done in the state.”
