Community head of Otumara community in the Lagos Mainland Local Government in Lagos State, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye has stressed the need for constant care and show of love to mothers.

Kalejaiye stated this in a release made available to newsexplorersng.com on the occasion of this year’s Mother’s Day celebration on March 27.

He described mothers as the “Heart” of the Home, a destiny moulder, home maker, counsellor and mentor whose role in the making of the home determines the future of the children.

Kalejaiye enjoined the children not to abandon their mothers, especially as child bearing responsibilities and old age begin to have adverse effects on our mothers.

He appealed to government at all levels, and citizens to reward the efforts of our mothers and enhance their living conditions.

The traditional ruler, however called for an end to all forms of violence against women and girl child while also calling on government at all levels to pay special attention to the education of a girl child.

“Our mothers are unique. They are home-makers and destiny moulders. As one of the scriptures says the paradise of a child is beneath the feet of the mother. This assertion supports the importance of mothers in the life of a child. To this end, I want to implore our government to give special care to our mothers and girl child because they are antidote to a better and saner society” he said.

While congratulating mothers on this year’s celebration, he advised women to create an atmosphere of peace and respect in their homes, support their husbands and help build a healthier nation.
