A group for gender parity and positive political change, The Transformation Ambassadors (TTA), says any attempt to deny the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu the presidential ticket of the party is a disservice to the country.

Convener of the group, Comrade Olufemi Omojuwa, at a press conference held in Lagos on Sunday, disclosed that of all the plethora of aspirants, Asiwaju Tinubu remains the best candidate for the party based on his political antecedent and achievements when he was governor of Lagos State.

He however urged delegates from the South and Northern regions to support his aspiration for the growth of the country.

He said, “Of all the plethora of presidential aspirants for the All Progressives Congress presidential ticket, this is not a matter of sentiment, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is the best candidate for the party at this time.

His track records and achievements when he was governor of Lagos state lend credence to this fact.

A situation whereby some leaders of the party are scheming against the emergence of Asiwaju Tinubu as the party’s flag bearer is unnecessary. This is obviously a disservice to the country and Nigerians.

This man has done a lot to nurture many destinies politically. He is passionate about the progress and unity of Nigeria. He is a mentor of leaders.

Apart from this, he has the strength and capacity to turn around the fortunes of the country and put an end to challenges confronting us as a nation.

Asiwaju is a bridge builder and a democrat who has help to sustain democratic rule in the country. He has also assisted many politicians and even technocrats to achieving their political ambitions which they never thought or dreamt of achieving.

Therefore, I am appealing to the delegates to reciprocate this kind gesture by turning in their votes for the man that is truly deserving of them.”

One of our major challenges in the country, Omojuwa observed, is stable electricity supply.

This, according to him, would be addressed by Tinubu if giving the opportunity to become the country’s next president.

He said, “We all witnessed how Asiwaju Tinubu started Independent Power Project in Lagos state to boost electricity supply, industrialisation and create employment opportunities for Lagosians.

This achievement alone, is enough for Southwest delegates to cast their vote for him because once electricity challenge is fixed, half of the country’s problem is resolved.

Asiwaju is a man with vision, great ideas, policies and strategies hence he deserved our supports to be the next president of Nigeria.”
