Executive chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon (Dr) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, on Saturday, led hundreds of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from his LCDA to the homecoming and party’s presidential campaign flag-off in Lagos state held for the party’s flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The carnival-like rally had in attendance party bigwigs including all the 22 governors of the All Progressives Congress governors forum, the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, director general of the presidential campaign council, Governor Simeon Lalong, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, party stalwarts from the Lagos APC, council chairmen and other members of the party at the grassroots level.

In his address at the rally, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila whose constituency hosted the rally declared that Tinubu is the greatest politician of modern day Nigeria.

He said, “This is not the real campaign, we are here to showcase ourselves and you can see everybody is BATified.

“Tinubu is the greatest politician in modern-day democracy. I want you all to tell the people that Tinubu stands tall among other presidential candidates.

Tinubu is the man of the moment who has invested so much in Nigeria’s democracy in the last 30 years.”

While expressing his gratitude to the party and the gathering, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu assured Nigerians of continued progressive government.

He appealed to the electorate to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat for another term of office.

He said, “This is broom revolution. I don’t think anything is missing here today. I promise that we will continue a progressive government for the country. The youth will not be forgotten. We will do our best. This is the starting point for Nigerians.

I am indeed grateful to God for giving us today.

I want you to teach Atiku a moral lesson at the poll with your votes.

Atiku Abubakar has been running since 1999. He ran on the platform of the PDP and ACN. He is an ingrate. Please tell him to quit. I urge you all to whip him with your PVCs.

The PDP was in power for 16 years, they never completed Lagos-Badagry road, Eastwest road and they never fixed electricity.

You have seen all our governors here today. We will never miss anyone of them. We will form a progressive government with all of them in 2023.

They have spoken that Tinubu is their choice. So I urge you all to get your PVCs and vote for me. God will guide you. God will give you your heart desires.

You have seen the success of Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat. Are you going to vote for them? For the progress of Lagos state, please vote for all candidates of the APC.”

Speaking with journalists at the rally, Hon Apatira commended Lagosians, particularly people from his constituency in Itire-Ikate LCDA, for their show of love to the national leader of the party and former Governor of the state.

He pledged his alloyed commitment and support for the actualisation of Tinubu’s presidency and the reelection bid of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He said, “This is just a test of the microphone. Lagos state and indeed Itire-Ikate LCDA is solidly behind our mentor, father and national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat and our leader, Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and other candidates of our party .

We will surely deliver the required votes to sustain APC in power.

I am most grateful for the outcome of today’s rally and the support and show of love to our leaders, the party and all its candidates. By God’s grace, 2023 is a reality. Our victory is assured.”

Dr Apatira thereafter urged the people to collect their permanent voters card , said it is the only tool to keep the progressive government in power.
