The opposition party in Oyo State, All Progressives Congress has goofed again in its remarks that Governor Oluseyi Makinde did not properly declare it’s assets as done some days ago.
Chief Akin Oke,the state Chairman of APC was of the view that Governor Makinde failed to explicitly state how he got his wealth.
He said that he could not assess the governors performance now pointing out that he would do that at the appropriate time.
The octogenarian politician who was speaking with an online reporter said the asset declaration of the Governor put at N48 Billion was questionable adding ” I don’t want to make comment on the issue now because I have no idea.
Oke also said that the Governor failed to clearly disclose how he came about the asset.
Spontaneous reactions have trailed the comment as the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,Mr.Taiwo Adisa and Senator Shehu Sani of Kaduna Central describing the elder statesman remark as senseless
Adisa said that the APC state Chairman should be advised to cover his face in shame in view of the fact that what the Governor did was in tandem with the set guidelines for public officers.
The Chief Press Secretary said that the APC leader has failed in his mission which was aimed at confusing a simple issue.
Senator Sani said that what the Governor did posed a challenge to those who claimed to be messiah,saints and antI corruption crusaders when in actual fact they are hypocrites.
He advised public officers to embrace transparency and patriotism as exhibited by Governor Makinde.
