The Baale, Otumara II, Apapa road, Ojo-niyun and its environ, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye has tasked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to rehabilitate dilapidated roads in the State particularly the road in Apapa road which according to him are ridden with potholes and gullies.

While commending the governor on the developmental strides in the State, High Chief Kalejaiye said the deplorable state of road in Costain, Apapa road has caused setbacks to businesses on the axis by way of traffic gridlock and loss of productive hours.

He said, “I commend Governor Sanwo-Olu for the impact he has made in the little time he has spent in office. He is indeed transforming the face of Lagos State for better.

But as Lagos State undergoes this developmental growth, I want to appeal to the governor to repair the Costain road that link Brewery and Orile. The road is causing a lot of hardship to road users and residents in the area.

You need to visit the road around noon to see the extent of the traffic gridlock. Another challenge posed by the bad road is that it becomes flooded whenever it rains. All the potholes are filled with rain water.

I am therefore appealing to the governor on behalf of residents in the community to come to our aid and repair the roads to ease vehicular movement and free flow of goods and services.”

Similarly, High Chief Kalejaiye has commended the State Government for proposing an electronic mode of payment system at the toll plaza of Lekki-Ikoyi Link bridge.

Recall Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on Wednesday announced that the mode of toll collection at the bridge would go electronic by October.

The governor said the introduction of electronic toll collection system would ensure free flow of traffic within the axis.

Reacting, High Chief Kalejaiye said electronic toll collection would further add value to the area as precious time that were lost in the traffic would be a thing of the past.

“ The axis was usually jam packed but now that the electronic system has been introduced, it would make movement faster.

Again, I want to urge the governor to fix the bad roads in the affected parts of the State so as not yo be seen as favouring a section of Lagos Residents over the others.”
