Faith Unites Muslims Charity Initiatives (FUMCI) has said preparation is in top gear for the preparation of Iftar (meal) for Fasting Muslims through out the 29 or 30 days of Ramadan Fast.
This was made know by the Amir of the organisation, Ustadh AbdMuiz Zubayr at the monthly public lecture organised by the group last weekend.
According to the Amir, this year’s Iftar project is the seventh in its series and it is aimed at bridging the gap between Muslims of different social status.
He said, “Regardless of social class and status, our intention with the Iftar project is to make all Muslims have sumptuous meal experience during the blessed month of Ramadan. Islam is one religion that doesn’t discriminate. Islam promotes selflessness, kindness and generosity to every individual. And this is what FUMCI represents. Our projects are one with which we express kindness, generosity and selflessness to our Muslim brothers and sisters.
“I must say this, our Iftar project and other activities wouldn’t have been possible but for the supports of well-meaning individuals who are passionate about Islam and about touching lives. About a week ago, we had our pre-Ramadan Medical Screening programmes where we invited a medical doctors and some nurses to screen Muslims for various ailments and drugs given to them and now is time for the Iftar project which is open to all to sponsor and support. You can contribute as low as N1000 or bring to us foodstuffs or cash donations. You can even pay your Zakat to us. Our aim is to earn Allah’s pleasure this Ramadan and beyond and our goal is Janah.”
FUMCI Iftar Project is an annual programme held in Ramadan where Muslims in selected mosques in Lagos are provided with variety of meals to break their fast.
This year’s programme, according to the Amir is schedule to commence on the first day of Ramadan and it is still open for sponsorship.
