Gov Makinde Inaugurates 10-Man Advisory Council

-He said appointment into his cabinet is not politically motivated
-Engr Makinde disclosed that the appointment was based on the vast experience of the appointees.
-He added that the task of the advisory board is to augment the knowledge and skill of leadership of his administration.

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has inaugurated a 10-man Advisory Committee to effect a purposeful government, economic development and stability in the State.
Engr Makinde informed that the appointment of members of the advisory council was not politically motivated, as it is being insinuated in some quarters.
The governor made this known during the inauguration ceremony of the newly appointed advisory council members held at the Governor’s Office.
While highlighting the importance of the Council, he said many organisations that are making progress have advisory boards in place.
Speaking further on the establishment of the advisory council, Engr Makinde that it was constituted based on the need for men of vast knowledge in the management of the affairs of the state.
He said the ten-man advisory council is expected to augment the knowledge and skills of the leadership of the present administration in the state
he said “This is a new government, I believe we have taken the right step in the right direction. The council, I believe, would be able to focus on specific programmes in order to advise or support the government in her policies and bring up new initiatives for this administration.”
“I want to charge members of the council to be up and doing. They should see the task before them as that which must be effectively executed. Oyo State is known as the pacesetter state, hence we must return the state to her days of glory,” Makinde vowed.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the deputy governor, Rauf Olaniyan; Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Abiodun Fadeyi, who represented the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin; Justice Moshood Abass from the state high court; Chief of Staff to the governor, Bisi Ilaka; and Head of Service, Mrs. Ololade Agboola
Members of the council, who also witnessed the inauguration include former chairperson, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; former Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Mulikat Adeola-Akande; a legal luminary, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN).
Others are former Head of Service in the state, Prince Samson Laoye; a chieftain of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Jacob Adetoro; former member of House of Representatives, Kamil Akinlabi; and Prof Kolapo Hamzat and two others.
