IMSU is 100 per cent on strike – Dean Student Affairs

Imo State University, IMSU, Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Nwankwo Martins Uchenna has refuted claims that the institution has quit the on-going ASUU strike.
The Dean made this assertion while responding to questions on the alleged jettisoning of the ASUU strike by IMSU last Saturday following the withdrawal of some universities from the strike action, the latest being the Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU).
Prof. Martins further revealed that the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) IMSU Chapter hasn’t called off its industrial action, putting to rest the rumour making the round that IMSU-NASU had called off its strike.
He said: “Imo State University, Owerri is 100 per cent on strike, both teaching and non-teaching staff”.
Meanwhile, while the ASUU strike lingers with the purported meeting between both parties today unlikely, first semester lectures have fully commenced at the IMSU Study Centre of the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) for 2019/2020 academic session.
