Herald Of His Peace and Mercy Foundation,a Non Governmental Organisation has trained over 144 people in various skills and vocations with a call on well-to -do Nigerians to help the poor and needy in the society.
Dr.(Deaconess)Olubunmi Falade the initiator of the five month old Foundation in her address in Ibadan , appealed to the public spirited Nigerians to team up wit the NGO to kill the scourge of poverty in the country
Speaking at Bishop Phillips Academy Ibadan during the week end,She disclosed that the five days intensive training for the people who included retirees,widows and the vulnerables was very capital intensive with nothing paid by the participants.
“It is capital intensive which one person or a single family can execute.We need support from people who desire good
things for the poor in the society,”Dr.Falade pleaded.
“Let us join our resources together to help the less privileged in the society.
If you are rich today,the reason is to be using it to help others.God commanded the Israelites to leave behind part of their harvest for the sake of the needy,She added.
The participants were trained in Auto Gele tying gele,soap making ,fashion design ,soap making,bag making,catering and pastry and were trained by competent resource persons from various organizations.
Deaconess Falade assured that the NGO would doggedly fight the cancer of poverty adding that it has no political motive but to help the serious minded but indigent members in the society.
She reminded the beneficiaries to be industrious,God fearing and strive to improve on the skill they have acquired adding that their activities would be effectively monitored.
The Assistant General Evangelist (Crusade)of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT)Dr.E.O.Falade and Engineer J.K.Akinola were in attendance to grace the grand finale of the training.
