Nurse Rapes Student At School’s Sickbay

A male nurse at the Northern School of Business in Tamale is reported to have raped a female student at the school’s sickbay.
It was gathered that the student was sick and reported to the sickbay facility of the school to receive medical attention where the nurse allegedly took undue advantage and raped her while classes were going on.
According to a source, the incident was reported to the school management but not much was done about it.
However, the health worker that alleged raped the student and was identified as Yussif had ran away from the school’s sickbay since the incident.
Star News made contact with the assistant head master of the school, Mr Alidu who is in charge of administrative duties. He confirmed the incident to Starr News.
The assistant head teacher revealed that, the nurse has since the incident confessed that, he committed the act. There however seems to be some elements within the school who have tried as much as possible to cover up and prevent the story from coming into the public domain.
The school leadership however said they reported the incident to the Sagnarigu Health Directorate to be handled because; they are in charge with posting nurses to health facilities including the nurse who committed the crime.
However, according to Starr News, the Sagnarigu Health Director has revealed that they are not aware of such an occurrence and have received no such report.
The suspected nurse however, after committing the crime applied for leave on the 15th of July 2019. His leave was granted and signed by his supervisor on 17th July while final approval from the Municipal Health Director was obtained on 18th July 2019.
Attempts by Starr News to discuss the incident with the head teacher whose name is given as Edward Azika proved futile.
When Starr News spoke to the regional police PRO, DSP Yussif Tanko, he said the case had not come to the attention of the police.
