The era of Police Officers and men infringing on the fundamental human rights of Nigerian citizens should be consigned to the dustbin of history.
Consequently, any officers found engaging in such misdemeanour would have himself to blame as punishment imposed on him would serve as a deterrent to others
These were the main thrust in the lectures delivered to the police’s personnel under Zone 11 by the Assistant Inspector General of Police for the Zone,Mr Leye Oyebade in Osogbo on Wednesday.
Zone 11 of the Police comprises Oyo,Osun and Ondo State’s with Head quarter in Osogbo.
Oyebade who had served as a Police Commissioner in many States including Oyo and Abia warned that no officer should encroach on the rights of civilians
Stressing that he has a zero tolerance for corruption, the AIG added that any officer found in any illegal act that would drag the name of the force in the mud would be shown the way out.
Counselling officers and men under the zone to be well disciplined,he called for high professionalism to make the zone the best among equals.
The AIG particularly charged those in the CIID to be discreet in their investigation and prosecution adding that they should not succumb to temptation.
Oyebade assured that the acting Inspector General of Police ,Mr.Mohammed Adamu would improve on their welfare adding that training and retraining of men and officers would be encouraged.
