Suspected Cultists Axe Final Year Student To Death

A 500- level student of the Electrical Engineering department of the Cross Rivers State University of Technology, Calabar campus identified as James has been axed to death by suspected cult members.

James who was initially shot at but seeing that the bullet did not penetrate his body, he was axed to death by the cultists while he was writing his first semester examination in the early hours of Monday, 15th July, 2019 at the old Engineering block of the institution.

According to an eyewitness, after series of gunshots in the air followed by the news of the death of James, some lecturers in the Civil Engineering Department made an announcement in the Examination hall that all cult members should either leave the hall quietly or bear the security risk as there is no security presence.

A few number of students suspected to be cultists submitted their exams sheets and Ieft the hall. Some even forcefully collected from their colleagues in order to leave in groups.
