NASFAT Prohibits Cross-over Tahajjud prayers

Mojisola Lawal
The National Secretariat of Nasrul-Lahi-Wal Fathi Society, NASFAT has prohibited and dissociated itself from cross-over Tahajjud prayers which some prayer groups organise for their members between December 31 and January 1.

NASFAT in a memo signed by its national dawah officer, Animashaun Uthman said cross-over Tahajjud is not one of the organisation’s programmes hence no branch must be seen engaging in it.

The memo which was dated 25th of December and addressed to all branch, zonal and national Missioners read in part, “I write to remind us all that the above-mentioned type of tahajjud is not one of NASFAT programmes and thus no Branch of NASFAT Society is allowed to hold such in any manner.

It has come to the notice of the office of the Chief Missioner that some branches do organize this tahajjud under the disguise that they are holding other NASFAT-accepted socio-religious functions. This is not acceptable and I have the instruction of the CM to inform us that any Missioner that does otherwise will be sanctioned appropriately.”

The board however instructs Missioners having any challenge on this in their Branches to bring their complaints to the notice of the Chief Missioner through the National Dawah Officer/Mission Board Secretary.
