…Death Is Inevitable, Says Cleric

Former Sub Editor of the defunct Sketch Press Limited Ibadan, Oyo State, Elder Jacob Niyi Amusan who died recently in Ibadan has been buried with a reminder to all and sundry that death is inevitable.


“Whatever you are and no matter your age,one day, death will come.Remember your heavenly home and serve God well while on earth, Pastor Amos T.Olalude said while ministering during the burial service held at Christ The Rock Church Worldwide Ibadan, Oyo State.


Paator Olalude who quoted many bible passages including Philippian 3:20 advised that after death,judgment follows.
He stressed that no religion can save any body who died in sin.


The Church prayed for the family of the deceased, urging them not to derail from the path of righteousness.


Earlier,Elder Olusakin Babalola,former News Editor of Sketch Press Limited, Elder Joseph Adebanjo Adetoye,Mr.Bola Akeem Ogunlayi and Mr.Amos Akinlabi Ishola who led the representatives of Former Sketch Workers Forum to the programme described late Amusan as an epitome of humility,industry and love during the years he spent at the company.


Elder Babalola in his tribute noted that Amusan lived a fulfilled life as a responsible and God fearing man adding that he was always ready to help people who came his way.


He prayed that God would help the families left behind by the deceased.


Mr.Ishola who said that Mr.Amusan taught him in a secondary school in Ibadan which they met again in Sketch, said that the deceased demonstrated high sense of civility and morality.


Alhaji Bola Ogunlayi also a Chief Reporter in the company advised the children of the deceased to emulate the virtues of their late father.


Also, Elder Adetoye, a Chief Sub Editor under who the deceased worked directly ,was full of praises to him adding that he left an indelible print on the sands of time in the company.


Amusan who died last December at 70 years was survived by his wife Mrs Janet Amusan,his children,daughters in law,sons in law and others.


In his letter of appreciation to Sketch Forum , the first son of the deceased,Dr.Akinwumi Amusan who lectured at the University of Lagos thanked the Forum and all lovers of the family praying that God would bless them abundantly.
