Excitement as Oba Fagbayi Emerges new Monarch of Awori town

History was made on Saturday, 15th of August, 2020 as Oba Victor Olabode Thomas- Fagbayi was crowned as the new Onitigbo of Tigbo in Otta, Awori land, Ogun state.

It would be recalled that the Onitigbo stool had been vacant since the last eleven years until Oba Fagbayi was enthroned following his endorsement by the Ogun State government and the council of Obas in Otta, Aworiland, Ogun State.

The emergence of the new monarch has put to rest unresolved issues that have made the town to be without a ruler, so residents and visitors troop out to the town hall with ecstasy and joy to celebrate the historic event.

The new monarch, Onitigbo of Tigbo, Oba Fagbayi in his royal regalia danced round the town to acquaint himself with his subject in the company of his families and associates.

To add colour to the day, Oba Fagbayi Secondary School classmate from the State High School, tagged ‘Buddies 88 were fully represented in large number at the event.

The event which was christened “Oba Bode Wolu” will forever remain fresh in the memory of residents in the ancient town as it was painted in different colour to express their joy.

“We give thanks to God and to Ogun state government for this historical event. It is what we have been waiting and praying for you, for over a decade. For this to finally come to pass is wonderful” a resident told newsexplorersng.com.

One thing that was very visible during the parade was the harmonious cohabitation that exist among indigenes and non-indigenes in the town which they displayed to the gallery having been denied a ruler for many years.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed Oba will be presented the staff of office by the governor of Ogun State today, Friday, 21st, 2020.

And the buddies SHS, Alimosho ‘88 set, together with some of his friends have concluded plans to storm the ancient town of Ilu Tigbo Otta in Awori land, Ogun state to give all their support to the new Kabiyesi, Oba Victor Olabode Thomas- Fagbayi, the Onitigbo of Tigbo.
