Kalejaiye Commends Sanwo-Olu As Lagos Commissions Blocks of Classrooms

Mojisola Lawal
The Lagos State government has commissioned blocks of classrooms for the pupils of Banjo Primary School in Otumara community and Government Handicraft Centre in Ojoniyun both in Ebute Meta (west) district of Lagos Mainland Local Government of Lagos State.

Representing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the commissioning were Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Dr Rabiu Olowo and Commissioner for Establishment, Training and Pension, Mrs Ajibola Ponle.

Speaking at the event, head of Otumara community, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for securing and investing in the future of tomorrow’s leaders especially for considering Otumara community worthy of such honour.

Kalejaiye however pleaded with the governor to accede to the demands for blocks of Senior Secondary School by residents in Lagos Mainland Local Government.

He said, granting such demand will put an end to the age-long suffering of pupils in the district who on a daily basis journey through highways to acquire secondary education in neighbouring districts.

He said, “While we appreciate the honour bestow upon us by the governor, we are appealing to him to crown it with construction of blocks of Senior Secondary School. A situation whereby we have only a primary school and Junior Secondary School without a Senior Secondary School, it is not completed. We humbly plead with Governor Sanwo-Olu to complete the transformation he had started in the education sector by constructing Senior Secondary School for us in Lagos Mainland and by extension in Otumara community.

The governor has done a tremendous job. We know he is a listening leader and father and his love and passion for education is never in doubt which is why we are counting on him to overhaul primary and secondary schools in Lagos Mainland Local Government especially in Otumara community.

I thank our Hon Commissioners for being partners in progress. We pray for a fruitful and rewarding tenure for a greater Lagos State.”
