High chief Kehinde Kalejaiye

Traditional ruler of Otumara community in the Lagos Mainland Local Government of Lagos State, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye, has called for unity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians as Christians around the globe celebrates this year’s Easter.

In his Easter message, Kalejaiye disclosed that the life and resurrection of the Lord Jesus is a seal of hope for believers, especially in the time of hopelessness.

He said, “As we mark this year’s Easter season, I enjoin my fellow Christians to lead a life worthy of emulation and eschew violence and all acts capable of threatening the peace of the society.

We must resolve to live in harmony and be tolerant of other people’s faiths.

“ As we celebrate, I urge everyone of us to remember our dear nation, Nigeria in prayers. Let us pray for our leaders to be inspired by the Holy spirit.

“There is no doubt that insecurity and socio-economic challenges are gradually tearing apart the fabric of the nation.

It is also a statement of fact that some extremists are on a killing spree killing innocent souls, turning children to orphans and destroying properties.

While I appeal to the Federal government and the service chiefs to take decisive steps to end armed banditry and terrorism, I equally want to appeal to our religious leaders and followers to collectively seek the face of God over these protracted challenges.

Our collective dreams can only be achieved in an atmosphere where peace, just and love reign supreme. I felicitate with Christians in Nigeria and the world. May the good Lord bring peace to our homes, state and the country as a whole. I wish you blissful Easter celebrations.”
