Do Not Hide Your Sickness From Your Employers, Says Bayewu

The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Hon Kamal Ayinde Bayewu has implored the workforce within the Commission to always inform the appropriate authority when they have life threatening illness.


He made this call in Alimosho Local Government during the Bi- annual routine inspection of the goings on in our Local Governments across the State.
He said, “It has come to the notice of the Commission that some members of staff willfully absent themselves from duties, this practice will endanger the agenda of the current administration of Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu, that is the reason we came here without giving you a prior notice.”


He said further that the Commission has no plan to witch-hunt any member of staff but to ensure that rules and regulations are followed.
“You are expected to resume by 8 am and close by 4pm depending on your schedule of duties”


Bayewu frowned at lateness and absentism, as the Commission is inundated with disturbing reports of members of staff not given their best to their Clients.

He said “the Rate prayers are the Clients who prefer to enter the Council by 8am and get attended to promptly and courteously”
The Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mr Abiodun Bamigboye said the Commission is discharging its responsibilities to the members of staff through regular release of Letters of promotion, letters of upgrade and relegation hence, any thing short of excellent performance from the workforce will attract official sanction.


The PS Establishment, Training and Pension Mrs.Kikelomo Bolarinwa warned against members of staff going for further studies without permission, while the commission encourages members of staff to upgrade themselves, approval must be obtained from the Commission through the Local Government.


The Council Manager Emmanuel Babatunde Akinbami thanked the Commission for the visit and promised to address all the issues raised.
Present during the Visit were the Member representing Epe Division Hon Hammed Ayinde Seriki Secretary to the Local Government Mr Debo Ogunkoya, Director A & HR, Local Government Establishment Training and Pension Mrs Oluwatosin Adegun, Director A & HR Local Government Service Commission Mrs. Omolola Ajayi, other Commission members,Management staff and members of staff.
