Vulcanizer Defiles Wife’s 15-Year Old Sister
A vulcanizer, Wasiu Ibrahim, has been docked for defiling his wife’s 15-year-old sister.
An Investigating Police Officer, IPO, Insp Olakunle Orebe, has told an Ikeja Special Offences Court while being led in evidence by the State Counsel, Mr Babajide Boye and Ms Inumidun Solarin, that he received a complaint about an alleged defilement of a minor on Feb. 2, 2017 at the Gender Section, Police Command in Ikeja.
The witness said that the victim told him that the defendant, was her sister’s husband and that she has been living with the couple for five years.
She alleged he had been having sex with her.
He said that the victim told him that the defendant defiled her when her sister traveled for a burial.
“The victim explained that her sister traveled for a burial on Jan. 1, 2017 and she was left in the house with her sister’s three children with her husband.
At midnight, the defendant ordered her to leave the couch she slept on and move to the floor.
“After a while, the defendant came to her, undressed and defiled her.
I told my class teacher about the incident on March 2, 2017.
My teacher reported at the police station and the defendant was arrested” she said.
According to the IPO, the victim was referred to Mirabel Medical Centre for examination.
He said her statement and medical report dated Feb. 14 were admitted in evidence.
The defence counsel, Mr Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, objected to the claim that the defendant made a statement at the police station.
The court ordered a trial within trial to test the voluntariness of the statement of the defendant.
The judge adjourned the case until June 30 for the continuation of trial
