Apatira Presents N3billion ‘Budget of Accelerated Growth’ To Legislative Arm

The Health, Education, Infrastructure, women and youth empowerment are some of the top priorities of the Hon (Dr) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira led administration as the council helmsman, on Tuesday, presented the year 2023 appropriation bill to the legislative arm of the council.
Tagged ‘Budget of Accelerated Growth’, the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area, presented the appropriation bill to the legislators at a brief ceremony held at the council’s legislative chamber.
In his remarks, Apatira disclosed that the Budget is aimed at achieving unprecedented growth and development in all sectors of the district economy.
The budget presentation commenced with the extensive review of the 2022 budget performance which had several projects executed in the areas of education, infrastructure, women and youth empowerment, provision of security gadgets to security agencies, desilting of drainages, purchase of official and operational vehicles to political office holders, management team, environmental sanitation department and revenue committee.
The proposed year-2023 budget size is estimated at N3, 149,087,769.82 comprising overhead cost, social services, outstanding payables, expenditure, non-current assets, teachers salary and personnel cost.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the council boss assured the people of the community of his administration commitment to improving the quality of lives through laudable projects.
He said, “We shall continue to strive to give the best to our citizens. I want to assure our esteemed populace that this appropriation bill will show how committed we are to the overall development of our communities in anticipation of an improved Internal Revenue Generation (IGR) so as to deliver on our campaign promises.
“I make bold to say that the outgone budget cycle of year 2022 was remarkable based on the successful completion of critical and significant projects and people oriented programs such as the construction of Oshofisan Street, Ajose street, grading and palliative works on dilapidated roads within the communities, construction of administrative offices at Ijeshatedo police station, renovation of Duro-oyedoyin primary school, construction of shops at Akorede International market, ongoing construction of 2nd phase of Akorede International market, ongoing construction of Itire-Ikate customary court, provision of drugs to the three primary health care centers in the district, clearing of drainages, training and provision of empowerment tools to youths and women, scholarship programs for indigent youths among other visible projects across the various communities.”
Furthermore, the council boss reassured all and sundry that his administration is open to receiving contributions that will bring about critical development to the LCDA.
The Leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Hammed Oladipupo Idris, while delivering his welcome address stated that the 5th legislative arm of Itire-Ikate LCDA is privileged and highly honored to receive the Year-2023 appropriation bill.
He said, “It’s an open secret that the year-2023 appropriation bill will be the second to be examined and judiciously considered by this honourable house within the expected lifespan of this administration.
“Distinguished guests, permit me to use this medium to humbly appeal to residents of our dear LCDA to improve on payment of taxes to the government as increase in revenue generation will adequately bring forth more developmental strides to our communities.
“It is with huge adoration to Almighty Allah that this honourable house seek his utmost guidance and wisdom to ensure that this year budgetary process is painstakingly and seamlessly worked on to boast the infrastructural architecture our dear LCDA.
“I thank you all for your steadfast and valuable support to this administration, God bless you all.”
