Lagos APC callout Gbadamosi over alleged WAEC result falsification

Ahmad Lawal
As the December 5 date for the Lagos East Senatorial by-election draws nearer, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Babatunde Gbadamosi seems to have been drenched in the murky water of court battle as the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress has called on the country’s Inspector General of Police to investigate and prosecute him for giving false information to INEC and absconding the mandatory National Youth Service.
The All Progressives Congress in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Hon Seye Oladejo alleged that the WAEC certificate presented to INEC by Gbadamosi is clearly different from the result displayed on the official website of the examination board.
The party also queried how he was able to secure admission into the prestigious Lagos State University without possessing the O’Level requirement for admission.
Excerpt from the statement read, “We pray the court to disqualify BOG from contesting the upcoming elections or any other elections having presented to INEC a WAEC certificate that is materially different from that contained on the official website of WAEC contrary to the provisions of the Constitution.
In the result presented to INEC, BOG sat for 5 subjects and obtained 4 credits. But in the result posted online, he sat for 8 subjects out of which he failed 3 subjects including Mathematics and Bible Knowledge. It is believed by APC that the result submitted to INEC does not contain the accurate result obtained and hence same may have been falsified.
Furthermore, we also question how BOG got admitted into LASU without possessing the minimum number of subjects required for admission by WAEC.
There are also indications that the PDP senatorial candidate, Gbadamosi did not participate in the one year mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) as claimed.
In the Form EC9, he claimed to have attended the Lagos State University after obtaining his WAEC certificate in 1985, with results that evidently did not meet requirements for admission in the university. Gbadamosi whose Wikipedia page shows that he attended the university failed to indicate the course of study.
Sources who attended the same University with him claimed not to be familiar with the name either back in school or on the University’s Alumni handbook.
We, at the Lagos APC call on Gbadamosi to openly address these inconsistencies and irregularities that question his self-acclaimed credibility and transparency.”
