Lagos APC campaign rally turned violent, two dead, journalist shot

Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Oshodi branch, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo was purportedly beaten and shot at the All Progressives Congress, APC campaign rally which was held in Ikeja, Lagos.

It was gathered that two persons died and  a photo-journalist shot at as the campaign venue turned rowdy and violent.

An eyewitness, Shola Alade said the campaign was going on smoothly and peaceful but turned violent when Oluomo and his gang emerged at the campaign venue.

He said, “The campaign was going on smoothly and we were already rejoicing and dancing to the songs by KWAM 1 while the NURTW Chairman, Tajudeen Agbede, Kunle Poly and others were on stage with the musician. Suddenly, everywhere became rowdy and there was Oluomo and his gang. They started to disrupt the venue as he attempted to gain access to the stage possibly to pay homage to the musician. Thereafter, there were sound of gunshot and the campaign was disrupted. And we heard that Oluomo had been shot, beaten and disgraced at the venue while a photo journalist was shot and other two died.”

Oluomo is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed private hospital on the island.
