Votes For Igbo Candidate In Lagos Are Votes For Slavery, Erosion Of Rights- Prince Adeogun

NIGERIAN youths, particularly of Yoruba extraction in Lagos state, have been advised to think with maturity and avoid youthful exuberance while casting their votes in the forthcoming governorship election as voting for any candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State would spell political doom as strangers are poised to grab their ancestral land and heritage.

The advice was given by a former member of the House of Representatives, Prince Albert Abiodun Adeogun at the aftermath of the presidential election held on February 25.

According to the lawmaker, the teeming youth population, on Saturday, March 11,2023, should cast their vote for their kinsman, Governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the contest.

He assured that a vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for another term in office would take Lagosians to the land of fulfilment and completion of the good works he started in the state.

Adeogun also emphasised that voting for Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in Lagos state would amount to digging their political grave.

He said that he owes nobody any apology to correct some Yoruba youths who did not know the implication of voting for the candidates of Igbo extraction in a Yoruba dominated state.

He said that voting for Chinedu, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate would be their costly mistake because he is a novice in governance.

“It is unthinkable to vote for a South easterner as a Governor in a South Western state like Lagos. It is an aberration” Adeogun said.

He observed that the generosity of Yoruba leaders have been so elastic as to employ Igbo chaps as cabinet members, Special Assistants in the state government.

He however warned that the mistakes of allowing Igbo to win seats in the House of Representatives should not be repeated in the forthcoming governorship elections.

He said, “We have Igbos currently in the Cabinet and the State House of Assembly. And now some going to the Federal House of Representatives. There is no single Yoruba man in any government in the South Eastern States. You can find out.

The infiltration of Igbo people in the Lagos politics is as an aberration. Igbo chaps are greedy and overambitious as to dominate the Lagos state government where they are tenants.

OAU, U.I, UNILAG have produced Presidents of Students Union Government while no Yoruba would ever be allowed to be the Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria,Nsukka.”

He lamented that late Dr.Namdi Azikiwe while alive wanted to be the Prime Minister over Yoruba land but late Chief Obafemi Awolowo killed that aspiration.

Prince Adeogun said that it was insulting that some Igbo people were describing Lagos as a No Man’s Land, adding that such insult should be stopped by not voting for any representative of Labour Party any more.

He alleged that no Yoruba man would ever be allowed to own a landed property in a core Eastern state no matter how rich the person is.

Adeogun told the right thinking Yoruba should know that a vote for any Igbo candidate is a vote for slavery of Yoruba man in Lagos state, adding “reject a vote for colonisation in your state.”
