That the Kogi state born drug baroness, socialite and textile merchant, Monsurat Asabi, popularly known as Toyin Igbira died of ovarian cancer is no longer news but an account of how she died remains gloomy to many Nigerians.

Newsexplorersng.com gathered that the beautiful Igbira woman who died at the age of 56, died in the early hours of Saturday morning of July, 20 at a private hospital in Lagos without fulfilling any of her long term dreams for her children.

It was also gathered that the mother of three reportedly asked to see her children before she gave up the ghost.

Our source also revealed that Toyin who was the toast of Fuji musicians, and a school dropout who later became a drug dealer, died with her only regret been that she could not live to witness any of her children attaining a successful feat in her life time.

It would be recalled that The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested her in 1999 at the age of 36 after years of extensive undercover anti-narcotic operations.

And she was arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on a two-count charge of unlawfully dealing in 5 kg of heroin and having found guilty, she was sentenced to two years in prison.

Toyin Igbira was diagnosed of ovarian cancer almost 10 years ago and her search for cure took her to hospitals in Europe and America.
She went into partial remission but suffered a relapse last year, prompting doctors to predict she may not live beyond February 2019.
