Makinde Tasks Perm Secs On Cooperation, To Pay Oyo Indigenes In Law School N500,000 As Bursary

The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde has reiterated his commitment to prioritise and sustain peace and security in the state.

Governor Makinde gave this assurance on Thursday in Ibadan during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointted14 permanent Secretaries.

He revealed his plan to restructure the State security architecture to ensure that crime and criminality were reduced to the barest minimum in the State.

The governor promised to make the State retain its Pacesetter status in the country while calling for full cooperation from all and sundry to achieve this feat.

Also at the event, Governor Makinde disclosed that he has increased the bursary award of Oyo state students in Law School to N500,000 from N100,000 in order to alleviate their financial burdens adding that much has been done for the pensioners who were frustrated by the past government.

He charged the new Permanent secretaries to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state adding that having interacted with them,they would not let him down.


The Governor said that his vision within the next four years was to visit and reverse the negative socio economic indices that have beleaguered the State over years.

Meanwhile, 15 people were originally shortlisted as Permanent secretaries, only 14 took the oath of office and allegiance administered on them by Director of Cabinet, Mr Fatai Omokemi. The new Perm Secs include five women and nine men.

Mrs Sadiat Oloko
Mr Joel Ajagbe*
Mr Olayinka Alli ,
Mrs Abosede Abioye,
Mr Adebowale Balogun,
Mr Ademola Ajibola ,
Dr Mufutau Ayoola,
Dr Mercy Popoola,
Mr Akin Funilayo,
Mr Adeyanju B. A,and Mr Gafar Bello .

The new Commissioners would soon be sworn in,it was learnt.
