Easter: Kalejaiye calls for prayers, patience, good neighbourliness

Head, Otumara community, High chief Kehinde Kalejaiye has called on Nigerians to be prayerful, patient and share good neighbourliness as Christians make the Easter period.
Kalejaiye stated this in his Easter message to Nigerians where he advised that as Christians celebrate they should adhere to the social distancing order of the government and stay safe.
He urged Christian faithful to be prayers especially as countries of the world are plagued with coronavirus pandemic. He noted that it is only prayer that could remedy the situation the world is plunged into.
He said “We must use the opportunity of the Easter season to engage in more prayers for Nigeria. We must pray for our leaders and our Health workers for God’s protection and direction on them as they work tirelessly to find solution to the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.
As we engage in the celebration of Easter, I want to appeal to us to stay at home and comply to all the rules and regulations directives given to us by our leaders and Health workers. It is only through this and fervent prayers we will be able to overcome the public health challenges the world is currently facing.”
While wishing Nigerians a happy Easter celebration, Kalejaiye tasks governments at all levels to see to the growing rate of crime occasioned by the lockdown order.
According to him, residents in most parts of the state live in fear as their houses and shops are burgled in broad day light.
He said, “I commend the efforts of our governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his lieutenants and security chiefs for adequately securing the state. But I need to call their attention to cases of armed robbery and burglary that is happening in succession. We have seen instances of young ones taking to crime and robbery to survive the lockdown.
For instance on Saturday, I heard of a shore at the Oyingbo market that was burgled. This is not limited to this area alone. I am appealing to our security chiefs to step up their game and see the wave of crime as an emergence of the lockdown that urgently needed to be urgently addressed. Once again, I wish all Christians a peaceful and happy celebrations.”
