Lagos to reopen churches, mosques June 19, schools remain shut

The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that all churches and mosques will remain closed until June 19 and 21 respectively.

The governor made the announcement on Thursday during a public briefing outlining efforts by his administration to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The governor also declared worshippers at any religious gathering across the state must not exceed 40 per cent of the entire congregation.

He however advised that persons below 15 years of age with adults whose age are from 65 years and above must not be allowed to attend religious worship in the state while making compulsory the use of facemasks for both mosques and churches.

Schools are however remain shut, according to the governor.
