As Governor Sanwo-Olu Marks 500 Days in Office, Lagosians want more positive transformations

By High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye

The centre of excellence, Lagos is a city that never goes to sleep. It is a state where residents are actively working round the clock just like the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

As the amiable governor marks his 500 days in office, without any hypocritic tendency, the city of aquatic splendour has experienced tremendous changes under Governor Sanwo-Olu. Every sector in the state is witnessing the Midas touch of the governor.

Guided by the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda which is the six-pillar development propelling the “Greater Lagos” journey and the manifestoes of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu has changed the infrastructural narrations in employment creation, vocational and skill acquisitions and youth development, Healthcare delivery, Education and infrastructure development.

It is worthy of mention that Governor Sanwo-Olu is delivering on his electoral promises in spite of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite that the past 500 days have been eventful and challenging, Sanwo-Olu has remain unshaken in his commitment to bequeathing a prosperous Lagos that works for all.

However, as he journeys on to sustaining his footprints for a better and prosperous Lagos state, I want to charge the Governor and his team to also channel their focus on the development of infrastructure in the Lagos Mainland Local Government of the state particularly in Otumara community.

For many years, we have been facing series of developmental challenges in Otumara community. We have infrastructure deficit in educational facilities as our community has only one Junior Secondary School in the name of Ilogbo Junior Secondary School while Primary Schools in the community have no learning facilities.

We don’t have any Senior Secondary School in the entire district. We want an improvement in the state of affairs in Otumara community. We want the governor to construct blocks Senior Secondary schools to achieve convenience in learning for our children.

Without mincing words, under this administration, there has been wonderful changes in health, education, transportation and employment creation; I am therefore calling on Governor Sanwo-Olu to replicate same in Otumara by bequeathing to residents a well-equipped blocks of Senior Secondary School.

Our children are suffering. Parents are groaning on a daily basis over fear of road mishap and avoidable transport fare giving to their children to and from schools located in Surulere and beyond every day.

In the next 500 days, we are appealing to Governor Sanwo-Olu to prioritise the construction of Senior Secondary School in the Ebute Meta district of the Lagos Mainland Local Government of the state.

We want to see Governor Sanwo-Olu improving on his achievements across all sectors of the economy of the state in the next 500 days and touch on those areas that are yet to be impacted upon for Lagos State to remain a model for other states of the federation.
Long live Lagos state, Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
