Igbo Will Produce Nigeria’s President Come 2023-Ohaneze

Akin Olayemi

The Igbo sociocultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, says Igbo will produce Nigeria’s next president come 2023.

The group expressed this stance while reacting to the declaration of intention by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to vie for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ogbonnia said: “Everybody in Nigeria knows that the presidency is rotated between the North and the South. And this time around, it’s supposed to rotate not just to the South but the Southeast.

“We’re very confident that justice will prevail. And that justice is that Igbo man will become the president of Nigeria come 2023.

“This world is ruled by conscience, equity and justice. In fact, equity and justice are the contravening force that makes it impossible for systems to collapse.

“The question is: Is Tinubu’s ambition backed by equity and justice? For anything to succeed, it has to be rooted in equity and justice. For us in Ohanaeze, any project that is not rooted in equity and justice is dead on arrival. It cannot succeed. Those who have tried it in the past know that it is impossible anything not rooted in equity and justice to succeed. History has proved that it is difficult for injustice to prevail for a long time.

“So, Tinubu has been known as a man of conscience in the past and he has demonstrated it in various ways.

“If surprisingly he turns back and engages himself in anything that unjust and unfair, it is a downward spiral for him.”
