The traditional head of Apapa Road, Otumara 11, Ojo-oniyun and it’s environ, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye has presented a cash gift of N50, 000 to the mother of the first baby to be delivered at the newly built Otumara Health Centre in Ebute-meta, West of Lagos State.
The cash gift was presented to the mother of the baby, Mrs Chioma Ifeanyi by High Chief Kalejaiye as an expression of appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the Chairperson of the Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mrs Omolola Essien for honouring the community with the healthcare facility to promote qualitative healthcare.
Speaking after the cash presentation at the Otumara Health Centre in Ebute-Meta west of Lagos Mainland, High Chief Kalejaiye said the cash gift to the first baby of the Otumara Health Centre was given to express his gratitude and also to encourage other residents to be patronising the health centre because health is wealth.
According to him, it is only those that have a healthy mind and body that could work to earn a living.
He added, “My sincere appreciation goes to the Lagos State Government for bringing the health centre and equipping it with modern facilities. And to the Chairperson of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mrs Rashidat Omolola Essien for her relentless efforts in ensuring that it is delivered. This wouldn’t have been possible without her. Therefore, on behalf of residents in Otumara community, I thank our indefatigable leader and mother for her efforts in ensuring that the health centre is completely equipped with modern medical facilities which has so far translated into the safe delivery of the first baby girl of the health centre. As you can see the mother and child are hale and hearty. “
Speaking on the reason for the philanthropic act, High Chief Kalejaiye said “It is about service to the community and humanity. Like I said earlier, it is to appreciate the State and Local Government administrators. I also see this as my responsibility to the community which by God’s grace I am the head. What would we have done if the delivery process ended in tragic? So, that we had the health centre from where good health care is assured and being promoted, why won’t we praise and appreciate the facilitators? So, the cash award is about appreciating good leadership as exemplified in our amiable Chairperson, Mrs Rashidat Omolola Essien and the Lagos State Government. You can’t imagine the comfort this health facility will bring to the people. They don’t need to go out of the community and people from other places will also be visiting and this will even make the community more popular and impactful.”
Meanwhile, the mother of the first baby, Mrs Chioma Ifeanyi was full of joy and appreciation to the Baale for his generosity and kind-heartedness.
She said since he became the head of the community, High Chief Kalejaiye has given himself more to the community through his selfless services and philanthropic acts.
Mrs Ifeanyi however prays to God to continue to bless the High Chief in wealth, wisdom and sound health because he deserves it with all he has done to the community.
