Yuletide: Apatira Celebrates Christians, Distributes Bags Of Rice, Others Items To Artisans, Market Leaders

To commemorate the joy of the birth of Jesus Christ, Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, distributed bags of rice and other gift items to party leaders, members, CDC, LGA and Ward chairmen, artisans and some residents in the district.
The Christmas largesse was distributed at the council secretariat on Saturday.
Sharing in the joy of the season, Dr Apatira, in his message to Christians in Lagos and across the country, advised Christians not to be caught up in the pressure of the season to engage in social vices that could threaten the peace atmosphere in the community.
The message read, “As Christians in Lagos, Nigeria join their counterpart across the globe to celebrate this glorious season, I urge all Christians to make the love of Jesus Christ the focus of their celebration.
Christians should reflect on the love and selflessness as exemplified by the Holy saviour.
In the spirit of the season, I enjoin us all to cultivate the habit of giving as this will give succour to the burdened hearts and brings to full bloom the spirit of Christmas.
Importantly, we must at all time live within the laws of the land and eschew violence, crimes and destructive tendencies and acts that are capable of threatening the peace and security of the land.
In this season and beyond, I urge all true Christians to seek the face of God through Jesus Christ and pray for continued peace and a violence free general election in 2023.
May we, as did the scriptural three wise men, seek a bright, particular star to guide us to the promised land and renew our hope for a better and prosperous Nigeria.”
While commending Christian leaders for their prayers and intercessions for the country, the council boss urged them not to relent in their prayers and the manifestations of the hand of God is evident in the affairs of the country.
He therefore urged Nigerians of all faiths to continue to rekindle their hope in the Nigerian project and pray fervently for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu presidency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, saying that in it lies the better and prosperous country every Nigerian has been yearning for.
He concluded, “On behalf of my family and management of Itire-Ikate LCDA, I congratulate all Nigerians and pray that we live to celebrate more of the season in sound health and abundant blessings of the Most High God.”
