Bayewu@60 Tourney: Apatira Applauds Players As Itire-Ikate FC Enters Quarter Finals Stage

The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira has applauded members and players of Itire-Ikate Football Club for emerging victorious at the quarter final stage of the football tourney to celebrate Hon Kamal Bayewu at 60.

The Itire-Ikate FC who played against Badagry West FC at the Oko-Baba Sports Complex, Ebute-Metta, (East), Lagos, on Tuesday scaled the hurdles to the quarter finals stage of the competition organised among for the 20 local Government Areas and 37 Local Government Development Areas as part of activities to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Chairman of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Kamal Bayewu.

The victorious team led by erstwhile NULGE Chairman of Itire-ikate LCDA, Comrade Ibrahim Oloyede was warmly received by the visibly elated council boss who in his usual manner pledged his unalloyed support and commitment to youth, sports and societal development in his district.

Speaking at the reception, Apatira said, “I am glad that our football team, Itire-ikate LCDA Football Club came out victorious in the match played against Badagry West LCDA at the sports complex, Oko Baba, Ebute Meta (East), Lagos which qualifies us for the quarter final stage of the competition.

We are a step ahead but the real test of strength and skills are still ahead of us in subsequent matches therefore I am charging the coaching crew and the players to keep the spirit alive and strive for nothing but the best and ensure that they bring home the golden trophy.

Our administration is known for rewarding excellence, therefore I am giving you my words, if you emerge victorious, pleasant surprise is waiting for you as I am ready to go places with the team.”

Responding to the gesture on behalf of his team, Itire-Ikate FC Captain, Comrade Ibrahim Oloyede was full of thanks while also assuring the council boss of his team readiness to clinch the coveted trophy.

“I am assuring you that nothing is going to debar us from bringing the golden trophy to Itire-ikate LCDA” he assured.
