Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area in Lagos state, Hon. (Dr) Ahmed Apatira has called on Muslims in the country to pray for peace, unity and the stability in his domain, Lagos state and the country as a whole.

The council boss made the call in his congratulatory message to Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Hon Apatira urged adherents of Islam to be good ambassadors of the religion of peace by imbibing the lessons of perseverance, commitment, dedication and obedience as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to the will of God.

He admonished all Nigerians to be dutiful to their fatherland and shun all divisive tendencies.

He added, “On the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, I urge all Nigerians especially Muslims to offer prayers to God to bring peace to our country especially to the troubled regions.

We must also at all time live with the lessons of the festive season which are perseverance, commitment, dedication and obedience to the higher authority.

No district, state or country thrive in an atmosphere of socio-economic chaos and political instability which is why we must be tolerant of each other.

As we approach the 2023 general elections, I want to task every Nigerian, regardless of our religious or cultural differences, to be dutiful to our dear country particularly in our collective journey to electing competent, credible and dependable candidates under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

This, we owe ourselves and generations to come for a better, prosperous and secured nation.

We must therefore shun all divisive acts and utterances that are capable of tearing apart our existence as a united nation.”

While wishing Muslims a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Hon. Apatira advised Nigerians to embrace peace and coexist peacefully amongst themselves anywhere they reside.
