Traditional ruler in Otumara community, Lagos Mainland Local Government of Lagos State, High Chief Kehinde Kalejaiye, has urged leaders at all levels to lead with the fear of God.

Kalejaiye stated this in his congratulatory message to Muslims in the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The Muslim festival, he stated, teaches perseverance, contentment, tolerance, and obedience to the will of God.

He tasked Nigerian leaders particularly political and religious leaders to fear their creator and promote habits that engender peace and good neighbourliness in the society.

The message read, “I felicitate with Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

As we celebrate the festival of sacrifice, I want to enjoin all Nigerians regardless of religion, culture and status, I want to implore us to renew our hopes as in this lies the Nigeria of our dream.

In the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration, I urge us to be tolerant, obedient and be more dedicated and committed to the Nigerian project especially as we approach the 2023 general elections.

A strict adherence to the teachings of Islam in the areas of sacrifice, love, brotherliness, piousness, peaceful coexistence to take us through this trying time in our national life.

Also, as Nigerians , we must use this season to move closer to God to pray for the unity and stability of the nation which is seriously under threat due insecurity and biting economic hardship arising from poor leadership.”

He also urged Muslims to exhibit peace, mutual respect and tolerance as they celebrate Eid- el -Kabir.
