Yuletide: Triple ‘A’ Foundation Fetes, Empowers Widows, Less Privileged

An aspirant to the Lagos Central Senatorial district seat in the last All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, Hon Akeem Apatira, through his non-governmental organization, the Triple ‘A’ foundation, has distributed cash gifts, clothes and food items to widows and the less privileged across various communities in Surulere, Lagos.

The event themed, “managing the future of the widows and lifting the less privileged”, was held at th Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area multipurpose hall on Tuesday.

The founder of Triple ‘A’ Foundation, Hon Apatira, disclosed that the distribution was aimed at positively impacting the lives of widows and the downtrodden in the society.

While addressing the beneficiaries, Apatira who is also the Managing Director of Lagos Drain Ducks, said, “We give hope to the hopeless. We are driven to support underprivileged widows to have a positive outlook in life despite the agonies of losing their beloved and breadwinners.

“The success of this program have been enormous, many widows are now self-reliant while some women business owners are not only able to fend for their families but are also employers of labour.”

Explaining why Triple ‘A’ Foundation chose to focus on the needs of the widows, Apatira said widows are often the most neglected and vulnerable in the society, saying the Christmas season is one of the best seasons of the year to share and give back to them.

At the event, hundreds of widows were gifted with cash, clothes and food items.
